Learn Digital Photography – encourage creativity in photography

Digital photography could see the death of creativity in photography in General. Why such a harsh statement? Here's why:

1. lack of thought.

As a film photographer photography consumables costs were much higher. This forced in think and carefully review each shot. There was a great thought process. Use a motor drive for taking multiple shots was to press photographers could have thirty-six images in seconds. For the rest of us we had to think more before you press the button.

2. the effect of Shakespeare.

This is the evolutionary idea that, if you take a roomful of monkeys a typewriter each and enough time, they eventually produce equal work as Shakespeare. There is a similar mentality among digital photographers that they shoot enough pictures, somewhere between the thousands if quality images. You have as much chance as this happens as a monkey.

3. Drive, firing syndrome.

This is similar to the lack of thought taking a picture. Because of the multiple shot feature in digital cameras and low cost of digital photography, it's fast easy to capture an image. As a drive by shooting the camera is pointed in the general direction of the subject and a bunch of images is taken. Then you move to the next target and fire away again.

So what's the answer? Pure and simple, slow down, right, down and smell the roses, as the saying goes. The creative process is methodical and well thought out. You need to be able to observe, think and act. Why digital photography is so fast, cheap and easy the principles and techniques of photography tend to get marginalized.

Here are some steps to encourage their creative process.

1. make or allocate time for your creative process.

Creativity will not be rushed. Sometimes it can come to you quickly, but this is the exception and not the norm. Then sit back and absorb the environment. Observe your surroundings, themes and any activity. Let it become a part of you.

2. Be selective.

Find something that you tap or better in their creativity. In the case of color and focus in rich hues and tones. If is an object or subject observe it carefully in its surroundings. Now close your eyes and imagine the final image.

3. change your position or point of view.

Observing his subject from different angles, heights or positions will change the image as the subject changes in relation to its environment. Suddenly you see things you never would.

4. try something different.

Traditional tourist firing a shot of your subject and then look for a shot that is completely different, one that you've never seen before. Makes it unrecognizable. Rent a boat and shoot water. Go to the top of a nearby building or if you are adventurous climb a tree or lie on your back.

Creativity is often just doing something different. Something that hasn't been done before. The key element that I found creativity is time. So take your time and smell the roses. Your photography will never be the same again. Put the photo back in photography, creative digital photography.
